The quality inspection of stainless steel coils is an important part of ensuring that products meet standards and meet customer needs. It mainly includes the following aspects:
1. Chemical composition detection
Through spectral analysis and other methods, the content of various elements in stainless steel coils, such as chromium, nickel, molybdenum, etc., is detected to determine whether it meets the corresponding grade standards. For example, the chromium content in 304 stainless steel should be 18% - 20%, and the nickel content should be 8% - 10.5%.
2. Mechanical property detection
Tensile test: Measure the tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and other indicators of stainless steel coils to evaluate their ability to withstand tensile loads.
Hardness test: Commonly used test methods include Rockwell hardness and Brinell hardness to understand the hardness characteristics of the material.
3. Surface quality inspection
Appearance inspection: Observe whether there are defects such as cracks, scratches, pits, rust spots, etc. on the surface of the stainless steel coil.
Roughness detection: Use a roughness tester to detect whether the surface roughness meets the requirements.
4. Dimensional accuracy detection
Thickness measurement: Use tools such as micrometers to measure the thickness of stainless steel coils at different positions to ensure that their thickness is uniform and within the specified tolerance range.
Width measurement: Measure the width of the coil to ensure that it is within the allowable deviation.
5. Corrosion resistance detection
Through methods such as salt spray tests, simulate the corrosion resistance of stainless steel coils in harsh environments and evaluate their corrosion resistance.
6. Nondestructive testing
Ultrasonic testing: Used to detect whether there are defects inside, such as inclusions, pores, etc.
Magnetic particle testing: Suitable for detecting surface and near-surface defects.
7. Grain size detection
Observe the grain size and distribution of stainless steel coils through a metallographic microscope to evaluate the uniformity and performance of their organizational structure.
Only after strict quality testing can stainless steel coils be safely and reliably used in various fields. For example, in the food processing industry, if the corrosion resistance of stainless steel coils does not meet the standards, it may cause food contamination; in the construction industry, if the dimensional accuracy is unqualified, it will affect the construction quality and aesthetics.
