Definition and compositionCarbon steel coil is a strip steel with carbon steel as the main material, produced by hot rolling or cold rolling process. Carbon steel is mainly composed of iron and carbon, and the carbon content is generally between 0.0218% - 2.11%. It also contains a small amount of silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and other elements.
Classification
According to the production process: it can be divided into hot-rolled carbon steel coil and cold-rolled carbon steel coil. The surface quality of hot-rolled carbon steel coil is relatively rough, but it has good toughness and processing performance; the surface of cold-rolled carbon steel coil is smooth, the dimensional accuracy is high, and the strength and hardness are relatively high.
According to the carbon content: it can be divided into low-carbon steel coil, medium-carbon steel coil and high-carbon steel coil. Low-carbon steel coil has low strength, good plasticity and welding performance; medium-carbon steel coil has good comprehensive performance and is often used to manufacture mechanical parts, etc.; high-carbon steel coil has high strength and hardness, good wear resistance, and is often used to manufacture knives, springs, etc.
