The quality inspection of stainless steel plates is a vital procedure. It begins with a visual inspection to spot any surface defects like scratches or dents. Then, precise measurements of dimensions and thickness are taken using specialized tools.
Chemical composition analysis is crucial. Samples are tested to ensure the correct proportion of elements like chromium and nickel. Mechanical property tests, including tensile and hardness tests, determine the material's strength and durability.
Non-destructive testing methods like ultrasonic or magnetic particle inspection are used to detect internal flaws. Corrosion resistance testing assesses how well the plates can withstand corrosive environments.
Random sampling within a batch helps ensure overall quality consistency. Results are recorded, and only plates passing all tests are deemed qualified.
For example, a flaw detected during non-destructive testing could indicate a manufacturing defect, and subpar corrosion resistance might make the plates unsuitable for certain applications.
